Missing You

Last Saturday, my father, mother and youngest brother who is just two-years old, accompanied my younger brother John Paul to the seminary. It would be the start of John Paul's crusade to priesthood.

John Paul is firm and will-full with what he wanted. My mother could see in his eyes the joy and satisfaction of making this one small step. But she can't stop the thought of missing him.

After saying good-byes, John Paul accompanied the whole family to the gates of the seminary to a  family-friends' car where they can hitch a ride.  But before closing the doors, my mother hugged John Paul so tightly and said, "my baby", holding her tears from her eyes. John Paul answered, "Mom, I'm can do this, I'm a grown-up now", then smiled.

My youngest brother Luis Gabriel can't stop missing his older brother.

The next day when he woke-up he asked mother, "where is Kuya (older brother)?".

"He's in the seminary to attend school", Mom answered.

Luis Gabriel went to silence.

The morning after when he wakes-up, Luis Gabriel said to Mom, "I don't like what you did".

"Why? what did I do?" Mom asked.

"You left Kuya at the seminary, you should have not done that, we should have brought him back home", Luis Gabriel said.

"But that is where his school is, right?", Mom replied.

Luis Gabriel went to silence....
